Thank you everyone involved in our concert on Friday, 14 June – our musicians, our Musical Director Joannes Roose, volunteers and of course our audience.
Bravo to Elyane Laussade for another brilliant performance – we loved being part of your epic mission to play every Mozart piano concerto. Surely Mozart has heard about it by now!
Our orchestra is made up of people from all different backgrounds, some with musical careers and others who value classical music as a hobby, but we all enjoy working together to share music with you. Thanks again, and well done to all.
Please join us on Friday, 14 June 2019 for this wonderful program! Discounted tickets are available here.
We have some good news to share about Gatehouse – the small department of the Royal Children’s Hospital that supports children and adolescents who have been sexually abused.
Using donations from our concerts, they can now continue providing an early intervention program that helps children, young people and their caregivers in the days following a traumatic experience.
The program has had great success in reducing the development of PTSD, teaching coping skills, addressing practical needs (safety, legal, medical) and assessing the need for long-term treatment.
Thank you to all our supporters for helping Gatehouse deliver such an important service in the community.
We’re excited to share the program for our concert on Friday 22 March! It will be a beautiful mix of pieces, giving each instrument its chance to shine.
- Charles Gounod ~ Petite Symphonie for Wind (1885)
- Leos Janácek ~ Idyll Suite for String Orchestra (1877)
- Antonín Dvorak ~ Symphony No. 6 (1880)
We hope to see you there for our first performance of 2019. Tickets available soon.
