Last night’s concert was a great start to the year – well done everyone! It was an ambitious program for only 6 rehearsals but we enjoy a challenge.
Bravo to Donna Coleman who made us feel very lucky to see her perform Clara Wieck’s Piano Concerto and then a beautiful encore. As always, thank you to our audience and volunteers.
No post-concert photos this time – we were too busy recovering from Schumann’s 2nd Symphony…
Mark your diaries for our next concert on Friday, 15 June 2018 – featuring soprano Lee Abrahmsen.
After a short rest we are ready to begin rehearsing for our final concert of the year! We will be performing the following program on Friday, 1 December 2017:
- Rossini – Semiramide Overture
- Elgar – Serenade for strings
- Tchaikovsky – Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”
Come and enjoy a great musical evening at MLC in Kew, and support the Royal Children’s Hospital. Tickets are available online here. We hope to see you there.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in our concert last night! Congratulations to Elyane Laussade (pictured here with our musical director, Joannes Roose) for performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1 with such grace and control (and good memory… imagine how many notes there are in 40 minutes of Chopin). Bravo, Elyane! And Beethoven’s 5th was such a joy to play. What would we do without classical music? Thank you and congratulations to you all!
It’s already July (brrrrr) which means we are preparing for our 3rd concert of the year.
Mark your diaries for a very special concert on Friday, 8th September featuring:
- Frédéric Chopin: Piano Concerto No.1 in E minor, Op.11 – with soloist Elyane Laussade
- Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No.5 in C minor, Op.67
Read about Elyane on our Soloists page, and purchase your tickets here. Hope to see you there.
We had a wonderful concert on Friday, 16 June. It was a result of great teamwork – thank you to our musicians, audience, volunteers, and Joannes Roose who has been our musical director and conductor since 1998.
Bravo to all!
