It’s February, meaning the end of our summer break and the beginning of our 2020 concert season. Our first concert of the year on Friday, 20th March will feature this thoughtfully selected program spanning the Baroque, Romantic and Modern eras:

  • Mendelssohn ~ Hebrides Overture
  • Bach ~ Brandenburg Concerto No. 4
  • Samuel Barber ~ Adagio for Strings
  • Schubert ~ Symphony No. 3

Join us on Friday 29 November ~ Mozart & Beethoven

Our last concert of 2019 will be on Friday, 29 November. We are looking forward to performing this wonderful program for you:

  • Mozart ~ Le Nozze di Figaro overture (The Marriage of Figaro)
  • Mozart ~ Exsultate Jubilate and selected arias from Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni, with soprano Lee Abrahmsen
  • Beethoven ~ Symphony No. 4

Next concert 6 Sep 2019 ~ Mendelssohn & Brahms

Our next concert on Friday, 6 September 2019 will feature the following program:

  • Mendelssohn ~ Ruy Blas Overture
  • Mendelssohn ~ Violin Concerto in E Minor with soloist Anne-Marie Johnson
  • Brahms ~ Symphony No. 3

Our online ticket prices are $26 adults / $13 students (children free) and can be purchased here. We also sell tickets at the door for $30 / $15 (cash only).

The concert will commence at 8pm at the James Tatoulis Auditorium, Methodist Ladies’ College, Kew.

First concert of the year ~ 22 March 2019

We’re excited to share the program for our concert on Friday 22 March! It will be a beautiful mix of pieces, giving each instrument its chance to shine.

  • Charles Gounod ~ Petite Symphonie for Wind (1885)
  • Leos Janácek ~ Idyll Suite for String Orchestra (1877)
  • Antonín Dvorak ~ Symphony No. 6 (1880)

November concert ~ Dvorak and Tchaikovsky

Next week we’ll start rehearsing for our final concert of the year, on Friday 30th November.

We think the program will be an audience favourite: Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.1 “Winter Dreams” and one of the world’s most popular concertos – Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with special guest Luke Severn.
