Supporting Gatehouse

We’d like to share an update from Gatehouse, a department at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne that provides counselling and crisis intervention services to children and young people affected by sexual abuse.

Last month, Gatehouse was able to purchase ‘sandplay’ toys using funds raised from our recent concerts and donations. Sandplay is a hands-on, non-intrusive and often non-verbal form of therapy which helps traumatised children express their feelings, wishes and needs.

Thank you to all of our supporters, from The Melbourne Sinfonia and Gatehouse.

Concert review by classikON

We’re delighted to share this review from classikON of our concert on Friday 11th September.

Here are some excerpts:

“… there were many beautiful moments.”
” [Zoe] Knighton played the many delightfully lyrical sections with a warm rich sound and sublime phrasing… The orchestra played some of the wind sections with great delicacy…”
“A wonderful family atmosphere and child friendly.”
