2023 concert dates

Happy New Year to all our supporters and musicians! We hope you had a restful and happy holiday period.

We are excited to announce our 2023 concert dates:

  • Friday, 16 June ~ featuring soprano Lee Abrahmsen
  • Friday, 8 September
  • Friday, 24 November

Concert Program ~ 18 November 2022

The year is flying by and we are preparing for our last concert of the year.

On Friday, 18 November 2022 we will perform the following program:

* Mendelssohn ~ Hebrides Overture
* Mendelssohn ~ Concerto for Violin, Piano and Strings with soloists Matthew Rigby (violin) and Yiyun Gu (piano)
* Beethoven ~ Symphony No. 8

We are delighted to announce the program for our next concert on Friday, 2 September 2022:

* Beethoven ~ Egmont Overture
* Elgar ~ Cello Concerto with soloist Luke Severn
* Dvorak ~ Symphony No. 8 in G major

After a short break we’re ready to start rehearsing for our second concert of the year.

On Friday, 10 June 2022 we will perform this delightful collection of music:

* Mozart ~ Overture to The Magic Flute
* Mozart ~ Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, with pianist Elyane Laussade
* Beethoven ~ Symphony No. 2 in D major

We’re back! Next concert ~ 25 March 2022

We are so pleased to announce that we will be presenting a concert on Friday, 25 March 2022. It will be held at the James Tatoulis Auditorium, Methodist Ladies’ College, Kew commencing at 8pm.

Our program is:
* Mozart ~ Don Giovanni Overture
* Ludwig Lebrun ~ Oboe Concerto No.1 in D minor with soloist Jasper Ly
* Beethoven ~ Symphony No. 5

Come along and enjoy, at last, a real live performance, support the orchestra and also Gatehouse at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Both the MLC auditorium and the orchestra have a Covid-safe plan and seating will be arranged accordingly.
