Concert Program & Tickets ~ 4 September 2026

Thank you to everyone involved in our Project Turandot Showcase Concert in June. Bravo to our spectacular young pianists – so much talent in one room! What a special evening it was.

After a short rest we are now rehearsing for our next concert, to be held on Friday 4 September 2026 at 8pm, at Carey Baptist Grammar School in Kew. We will perform:

* Felix Mendelssohn ~ Overture to Ruy Blas
* Robert Schumann ~ Piano Concerto with soloist Glenn Riddle
* Johannes Brahms ~ Symphony No. 1

VENUE: Carey Baptist Grammar School, 349 Barkers Road, Kew: Ian Woolf Auditorium, De Young Performing Arts Centre.

Showcase Concert: Friday 19 June 2026 ~ Young pianists and Project Turandot

We are delighted to partner with Studio Laussade to participate in Project Turandot, an initiative of the Italian Government in which Italian performers and teachers are made available to participating institutions in foreign countries.

Since mid-2025, regular masterclasses by eminent Italian pianists have taken place at Studio Laussade, and The Melbourne Sinfonia is proud to present a showcase concert of the young pianists who have benefited from these classes.

We are pleased that Professor Giuseppe Madugno, Director of the Conservatorium in Modena, who has worked tirelessly on this project and attended the masterclasses in person, will attend this concert.

This special concert will feature the following program:

* Josef Haydn ~ Piano Concerto in D major, 1st Movement: Vivace Soloist: Isabelle Liu
* Camille Saint-Saëns ~ Piano Concerto No. 2, Op.22 in G minor Soloists: Movement 1 Serenity Lao; Movement 2 Chloe Huo; Movement 3 Aaron Ma
* Sergei Prokofiev ~ Piano Concerto No. 1, Op.10 Soloist: Thea Lukito
* George Gershwin ~ Rhapsody in Blue Soloist: Gabriella Li

* Song Recital by mezzo soprano Kristen Leich and pianist Elyane Laussade
* Ludwig van Beethoven ~ Symphony No. 4

Come along to support our orchestra as well as Gatehouse at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
